Does anyone know anything about Palisades SAR Dog Assoc in Lambertville NJ? I am not sure if they are still active. Also any info about West Jersey Canine SAR? These are the 2 groups I tried to get involved with when I had Roland and am trying to contact them again. Not getting any responses.
Any advice on how to get involved in a group?
Make darn sure the people in charge of whatever team you go with are qualifyed to train dogs, or at least able to help get people started. I'm supposed to be on the best team in the state, but I've just about had it with the incompetence in dog training. I was put in charge of new people and new dogs, yet I keep getting undermined by the powers that be. People coming in now have no idea what they are in for.

Both teams have links at sarcnj. I have emailed and no one answers. Last time I called and left a lot messages over time--figured I either looked really interested or annoyed them enough to call me back. I will offer to be a victim (sounds like fun) and maybe that will get me a call/email back, I just want to get involved!!
I dont even have a dog yet, I am trying to get involved now so that when I have a dog we can train.
A lot of teams get tons of inquiries from people with romantic images of saving the day and no idea of the work involved so they tend not to be as responsive as people might like - plus most folks are volunteers juggling a job / normal stuff / training / callouts so they tend to get behind <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
