My GSD pup is 9 months now, and at some point we would like to get a second dog. I am in no hurry to do so and would prefer to do it a couple years down the road, but I am wondering if it might be better to do it before he is completely mature to help the acceptance of a new dog.
When would be the best time? I realize their is probably no absolute answer, but in general what age is ideal for introducing a new pup to the house?
Also, any thoughts on miniature Schnauzers? I really want a Mali as a companion for my GSD, but my wife wants a small dog and they seem like pretty cool dogs with a lot of drive and activity requirements. Would a small dog like that have trouble keeping up?
