Sorry for the loss of your dog. It is always difficult to loose a beloved pet. He will be waiting at "the bridge" for you. I heard about the bad effects of Sargents & Hearts Mountain fee colars & sprays a number of years ago, at least with it's effects on cats. (I would never take the chance with any of that kind of quality stuff with my working GSD.) I was lucky enough to hear about it from a friend that rescues many cats so I don't use any of that on my cat either. I use frontline on both of my girls. I am also sure to only apply it every 30 days & no sooner. I wish that there were something more effective that didn't contain the chemicals. I really hate putting chemicals on my aminals. I also use a coat conditioning spray that I get form my homiopathic vet(Martin Goldstein) that also works to keep ticks & fleas off. It seems to be very effective. I use it several times a week & it seems to help keep ticks etc off when tracking in deeper grass & working on the field for OB & protection.
