Is there a place where you can go to actually look up information on dogs that you may see in a pedigree? ie: videos and pictures of the dog, as well as all of its accomplishments, etc.??

Well, you can google the Kennel name that produced the dog and start there.
Some times the kennels sites themselves will have various training photo's up for you to view. Just seeing those can give you an idea if the folks actually know what they're doing ( I could use as an example one of the kennels that you were looking at and posted a link for - their training photo's showed pretty bad training. And if I was a buyer, I'd have to think for myself...."is that the best they can do"?
Drive, dispostion, ect. You would want to watch the dog and make sure it is enjoying what it is doing. Not dong it out a fear. Just use common sence you can tell when a dog looks flat or when it is really enjoying the work. That is what I look for.

On THIS PAGE, in video #8 for Gaston, what is he doing? I don't have sound on my computer, so if there is a command, I can't hear it.
Also, these dogs all appear to be enjoying what they're doing, but why do the decoys always give up the sleeve? I thought you only did that with puppies? They also don't seem to be driving the dogs very well at all either.

Er.... I said puppies in my last post but what I meant was puppies and/or young dogs just starting out. My brain is seriously not working for me today.
If you want to see some dogs of all ages first hand you should come by the catawba valley schuthund club training night. Wayne Simanovich runs it and he is a top notch trainer. We work probably 20 dogs of all ages. There are some great cezch dogs that he imported and there are puppies from 4 months on up. Some that were bred locally and some elsewhere. Wayne also has a very nice slovak import sport dog that is worked as well as some nice dogs out of west german working lines. On a side note if you have any intrest in a Rottweiler there is one of the best working rotts in the world on site. In a different thread Will made a great point about the spectrum of ability within the same litter and you can see this very clearly displayed at one of these training nights. There are three 10 month old pups from the same litter that come to train. One male is over the top in drive. One female is looking like a good sport prospect and a third male will be a nice pet but probably not a sport or pp dog. I happened to get to see all these dogs as 6-8 week olds and they were all showing the same tendencies at those ages. I guess my point is be careful about just buying on the pedigree and not evalutating the pup as individuals. If you are not able to evaluate the pup yourself make sure you are working with a very reputable breeder. You don't have to search long on this forum to find some real horror stories. In any case if you would ever like to come out just PM me and I will send you some directions and our training time.
