On Oct 4th 2001 I was very busy I had spent the previous night with my black & tan female whelping 8 puppies. When I came in from doing that, I noticed that my solid black female was now starting into labor, a day labor, all day for three puppies. I watched all evening and no more puppies and no more labor. I slept soundly thru the night, first thing in the morning I check on the one with three puppies, and when I looked in the box I thought someone had put a gueina pig into my whelping box and I SCREAMED then looked again and it was a puppy!! I was so shocked I was shaking and I picked it up and its feet were so shockingly white and of course its face was nothing I had ever seen!! I immediately called the stud dog owner and 6 days later we were at a University Vet School for DNA testing. I was positive my female had not been gotten by anyone other than the stud but just to make sure!! The results didn't come in for about a month and when the puppies eyes opened I could tell that there was something different about that ones. Well she is DNA test AKC Registered.She has three solid black grandparents and a solid black mother. NO WHITES IN THE LINES OF EITHER SIDE The genetics expert says she is the only true color genetic mutation in the history of the breed. I think the most amazing thing is that 50% of any off spring should be like her. So we tried it!!
