I posted this same post on the GSD World.
I am hoping to hear everyone's thoughts on these pedigrees.....
good/bad, pros/cons.
Don't be shy, as I am pretty tough skinned!
I have a friend trying to talk me into a co-ownership of this girl. Although, he didn't have to twist my arm very hard!!
Indra vom Gräfental Indra's Pedigree
She is a solid black girl (which I absolutely LOVE!!!)
Both her Sire and Dam are SchH 3 and V rated.
The one thing that bothers me is her Dam carries a high HD-ZW of 96, and a fast-normal stamp.
Then we have my boys:
Laros and Lesko vom Gräfental
One boy is black and the other a very black sable!!!
Their Dam:
V Peddy vom Gräfental SchH 2, KKL 1 'a' normal HDZW of 77 Peddy's Pedigree
Their Sire:
V Sven vom Gräfental SchH 3, KKL1 'a' normal HDZW of 84 Sven's Pedigree
I worked two Grafental dogs over the years. Both were very typy for East German GSD's.
Nice bone, nice pigment, good food drive, excellent OB. Neither had high prey drive and both of them had substandard protection. Very difficult dogs to title.
It may have just been the two dogs that my friend imported for his kennel.

Well, what is it you want from your dogs??? We may have very divergent interests and expertise depending on what the expectations are from particular GSD lineages.
I enjoy training all three phases of Schutzhund. I like to take the dogs from 0-up. But, I've been looking for a harder dog-so I guess I will just wait and see what these boys bring to the table.
If I understand Will. R right it would mean they have a type writer grip on a sleeve meaning they never really comit to the bite and keep on biting and biting. Not a Bite a hold but a repetitive snappy bite. You can hear the points dropping off your score with a dog like this.
When people get scared they call the police..When the police get scared they call K-9!

Describing a dog as "typey" means that it is a good representation of the breed standard (read "pretty" if you are a show dog person.) Is this what you were referring to, Will?
...although I like the typewriter bite definition too!! I usually refer to that as a "piano bite" (ie: the dog is nibbling up and down the keyboard..it amounts to the same thing, a baaaad bite style <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
Sorry to confuse everyone. By "typy" I mean they appear as the norm for the East German dogs - heavy bone, less emphasis on speed, a little handler sensitive, dark pigment.
I do use the term "type writer" to describe the dog biting and releasing and working it's way up my arm towards my hand, just as Matt mentioned.
