I almost completely lost my voice last week and it really reinforced the need to do this. My adult husky had been trained and proofed at everything from a yell to a whisper, but I have really just started proffing my 15 month old GSD. The GSD is used to loud clear German commands. Needless to say I got the furry finger quite a few times. It's importiant to give commands at all volume levels durring proofing, a whispered command needs to be obeyed the same way that a command given in a regular tone is. When you scream a command at your dog they should comply not go into avoidence because they think they are in trouble.
