I find it hard to believe that Hernando County was dog friendly due to it being fairly affluent. But I'll take your word for it. Here on the East coast you cant do anything fun with your dog, save dog parks, which I dont go near.

Did you decide what you were going to do for a dog yet?
I'm fairly certain I'll be getting one from Wayne, now that I know I can join the dog club and train for $500 a year! We were thinking we'd be spending $3000 or more on one of his dogs, and then having to spend another $10000 or whatever for training, and that isn't do-able for us. He said yesterday that the $500 a year covered all the training we wanted to do, so that's something we could swing.

I don't know how extensive the training you are looking for will be but Wayne, David, Chelsea, and Scott who you met have always been more than willing to help me in anyway they can. There are a few other members who have competed and won at the national level as well that train there and they have all been very willing to spend time helping me get started in the sport. Glad it was a good experience for you and your husband. How did that new female work? I guess I will get a chance to see her myself on Wendesday.
I am surprised that you say Florida is not dog friendly. When I went down house hunting last year, I met with Animal control to get clarification on some of the dog laws they have. I found it to be a dog friendly area.
Animal control in Orange County are very friendly, and the laws are pretty good. What gets me is that there are maybe 6 beaches in the state that I can think of that don't have big "No Dogs Allowed" signs on them. I need to drive over 2 hours thru the horrible horrible Orlando To Tampa/Clearwate traffic to get to Dunedin's "Pet Beach". Clearwater requires you to take one of the 3(?) causeways/bridges that go from Tampa to Clearwater, if they get backed up, the only way you're getting home is sitting in traffic... all to take my dog to the beach for 90 minutes and getting yelled at by people because my dog's digging on a beach designated to dogs n "sand might get on my stuff" and people FISHING with FISH HOOKS (unsupervised poles) where my dog wants to swim.
The dog laws are good - the general public and the individual laws on where dogs can go suck. I haven't taken my dog anywhere in months because it's such a hassle and there isn't really anything to do. He's just as happy, if not happier, running around my back yard chasing a frisbee.
Anyway didn't mean to stray from the topic

Both the new females were great! Especially considering that they just got off the plane on Thursday and haven't had time to adjust to the time change, climate change, and change in their surroundings yet.
Thanks SO MUCH for suggesting that I talk to Wayne and go and check him out. He called me yesterday and told me that he was excited to work with me if I decided I wanted to work with him, and that he is confident that I could make it to the National level if I want to take it that far!
