Will, I agree with you on that particular point. But, I assure you that she is neither dumb nor dishonest, and I can say this because I know her personally. Please dont let one page of that website sour your taste permanently.
But I dont really expect people who dont own the breed to understand just how frustrating the media can be on the subject of pit bulls and dog attacks in general. I cant hardly handle watching the news anymore.
"Pit Bull Mauls Family Pet Labrador!!!"
"Pit Bull Attacks Local Man in Neighborhood!!"
I just want to scream when I hear these!! I work in a veterinary hospital, and just yesterday we had to patch up a cattle dog that tussled with a labrador. gee, ya think that made the news?? And the man that was "attacked"...well, he was looking for his cat, found it in a bush the same time the dog did (in the dogs yard!) and the dog grabbed at the cat and nicked his knuckle. The guy has a bandage all the way up his arm, and unwraps it to show a small no-sutures-needed wound on his hand. Then he yells to the bobble-headed press that these dogs are dangerous and vicious and he wont have them in his nieghborhood. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
Those are both stories that were on my local channel just in the last 2 months.
This is my opinion of the the pit issue. I love the dogs and think they can be wonderful pets. How ever I live in East Texas in the country where the pits are only used for fighting or as statemant of being tough by punks or people who are week and want to seem tough and as hog dogs. The only use acceptable is a hog dog as these dogs are treated well and actually serve a perpose. People may disagree with this but alot of people don't have alot of money and use these dogs either for meat or to keep the hogs from destroying property. It is a shame that a wonderful dog has to go down because of the horible people in the world today. but the dog is very tough and agressive when poorly bred or trained to be so what choice can we make. If we don't choose to punish the people involved than the only choise is the animal
Hey I am moving to Aurora , well actually Centinial are they going to classify American Bulldogs as Pit Bull Type I think the whole thing is stupid Judge the deed not the Breed
