We have a 16 week lab puppy who is trained to go "potty" outside. The problem we are having is she is killing the grass with her urine. I have set up a pee gravel area for her to relieve herself, but she will not go there. I have stood there with her for 30 minutes at times and she won't go, opting instead to go on the grass. I've tried placing her poop on the gravel to make her go, but that hasn't worked. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make her go on the gravel?
I have my 2 1/2 year old GSD that is litter box trained.
He goes in a 4ft x 4ft box similar to what you have, only I have an additional 5 inches of building sand over the gravel, for ease of scooping. You can replace the sand every couple of months or so.
What I did, was to invite everyone I knew with a male dog, and let them do their thing there out of sight of my dog.
Works like a charm.
