All your posts strongly suggest that there are pack leader problems. Your puppy wants you to be the pack leader and you are not. I know this sounds cut-and-dried based on a few posts, but they are pretty clear. Can you get a basic puppy-obedience viedo?
Wow, really? I was thinking this so much a few weeks ago until I found Eds articles and then by the time I was done reading them I thought I was mistaken..
I can't get any videos in English.. not very easily, anyway.
And this country has a MASSIVE postal teft problem, and I dont have things shipped here anymore unless its registered and insured.. and coming from the US like Eds would, I would have to pay an extra 40% tax on what I bought..
It would be alot of cash in the end.. and no guarantee I would ever receive it.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Could look on UK ebay though maybe..
She really sounds dominant? She's so sweet though.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Well, dominant and sweet are not mutually exclusive.
But what I was saying that you were NOT assuming the alpha role and somebody in the pack has to, whether she's naturally submissive or not.
Maybe I'm overreacting......let's hear from others. I suggested a video because it sounds as if you don't get the pack-leader idea, and the video would demonstrate it perfectly. She is jumping on people, following strangers, deciding when and where to walk. I did NOT mean that submissive peeing should be punished, and I hope I didn't suggest that inadvertently. I was reacting to all the other issues that came out, along with the peeing.
No, I know not to correct for submissive peeing. Shes only peed when greeting me once, and my gut tells me it was just excitability as it was the longest shed ever gone without seeing me. And it hasnt happened since.
Peeing with strangers only happens once in a while also - she literally can see 10 or 15 people who will want to pet her and she will only pee the first or second time - never more than once in a walk. So Im not sure its submissive, tahts why I was asking..
She does listen to the commands Ive taught her. She seems eager to, but she doesnt know a ton of them yet. So far she can come, sit, out, down, get it, here (i use this instead of come when asking her to bring me something I will take, like a ball or whatever), she understands no too. and knows that 'ok' means she can cross the street.
I allow her to meet people and dogs becayse they are unavoidable here and I dont want her to be afraid of them when shes grown..
The planting her butt on the ground has only been this last week and I really dont know whats causing it. She never did aything like it before. I was actually more concerened that she might be feeling semi arthritic as a result of the lyme vaccine.. as it was given about 1.5 weeks ago. Unlikely, but still a concern of mine..
No one has any ideas on why shes doing that?
Please keep in mind, the other things ive mentioned that might seem like she doesnt listen happen pretty rarely..
In the normal course of the day she listens more often than not. Unless Im misinterpreting something..
We just had an unpleasant experience at the park. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
And while Im not super knowlegeable about submissive peeing, I would have to say I no longer think my dogs experiencing this. Im pretty sure that when she pees its just from excitability.
