Ok, my dog, Roscoe, is 11 mo. old, we adopted him when he was 6 wks. old. He has been a breeze! Houstrained in a day, never chews on anything but his toys, loves the cat, (in a good way) great with the kids, but he has started digging. Its horrible. He has an 8x10 dirt, "free dig" zone, he is neutered, he doesn't dig at the fence line, he is almost never alone, I am a stay at home mom, we have two kids who play with him all the time, my husband has a home office, so he is here a lot, he has a doggy door so he can come and go as he wants, I have started keeping him in, but if he gets out for 2 minutes, he digs horribly. Now he has started digging up my raspberries!!! I have tried deterents, poo, mouse traps, everything. I am so STUCK!! Will he grow out of this? He is a lab/shar pei mix, and so sweet, but I am getting so frustraed.. HELP!

You think that's enough mental stimulation and physical exercise, when he is clearly showing you it is NOT.
How is the dog training going? How many miles exercise he getting each week? How frequently are you able to pack him in the car and take him out for socialization and new sights/sounds?
This is 100% a management and training issue, nothing else. He does not go outside unless a human does. That way you can correct for the digging so he CLEARLY learns the rules. Additionally you will be there to play ball, run in the yard, play tug, etc. so he finds something more fun to do than digging.
