I cant beleave I looked over this room, it was not till last night when looking though older posts that I happend to stumble across this forum topic.
This is a uneasy topic for many Americans and people around the world alike. But, I understand why this room is here, ED is proud to be and American and above all he is proud of his boy.
I spent some time in the National Guard in Knoxville, Tennessee and Camp Shelby, Mississippi. I was part the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment(ACR)(as of 2004, Regimental Combat Team)(RCT)(, untill coming home, then it will go back to (ACR). I never did get to see the war, I was discarged do to a spinal injury, that I still fight with to this day. I have friends that write me and email me that are over there right now, and on ocasion some of thoughs emails and letters stop coming. I can only help to wonder if they are still breathing. I have beat my self up many times over the past year+, about not being able to go and have my hand in "The War on Terror" and be there for my partners. Just to let every one here know, I was menally ready to die for this country, to make futer gen live free, to make my 5 year old daughter have a free life, like her great granddad did, like my dad did. No one will know what that feels like untill they walk a mile in the shoes of a soldier, a man willing to sacrifice he live for a bunch of people he dont even know, for a bunch of fat people that sit around there dinner table and talk junk politics, a bunch of high school drop outs that think they can do a better job.
I am America, we are America. Ed I know the look in your eyes when you see your son in pictures, or the look your eyes when he comes home, I also know the look in your eyes when you wave him bye. Because, that is the same look I saw in my dads eyes, and the eyes of many fathers in America. That is a look I will remember for many years after my dad is dead and gone, that is the same look I hope I can share with my son and grand sons.
I say F**K the naysayers, I WOULD NEVER traid my M16, or 40 pound back pack for your office, or your pencil, your sports cars and desk jobs. Jeff and I, plus millions of other American people are the only reason you can have your sports cars and junk politics.
