Why don't you get some pepper spray or some other deterrent so this mop dog learns it's not a good idea to rush up to your dog. Better yet, try using it on the stupid owner too -just kidding
Heres the thing I had pepper spray but this little guys comes out between cars at her and catches me off guard, then things happen so fast, I think it would be much more effective on my neighbor as you stated <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> Anyway he went to the association and complained that I had kicked his dog ( I really didn't kick, I got under the little bully and lifted him in the air back at my idiot neighbor). Fortunately for me my girlfriend next door was just coming in from walking her dog and could tell the association that he lets the dog run at mine off leash or on a zip. He is going to be fined. I fear I have made an enemy though and Lilly has to be on her best behavior...but then again thats why I came here, so we will continue to work, modify and adapt!!!!
"Pit Bull community that E collars are NOT recommended for Pits."
I guess the pitbullfolks think that e-collars do not work for pits. That they have high tollearance for pain.
But i believe an E-collar could work for even a pitbull.
I helped a girl that had a maledog aggressive amstaff.
Only two corrections with a prong collar was all it took for the dog the start listen to his owner instead of focus on the other dog!
I used an e-collar on my male APBT several years ago. He was a large dog, and much stronger than I. He wasn't aggressive, but where I live, I couldn't take any chances, so I walked him with a prong and an ecollar. Actually, the main reason for an e-collar with him was his hatred for bicycles. I had no control whatsoever if he saw a bicycle. He actually got out of the house one morning and stole one from the little boy who was riding it...but that's another story. Anyway, I was told the same things about pits and e-collars, but I tried it, and it's true that they do have a high tolerance for pain, but believe me, they DO feel it. Mine would kind of scrunch up his head an shoulders (on the high setting), then give me a defiant look like "didn't hurt, Mom." But it was unpleasant enough to make him steal the remote if I were to set it down. So, if I were you, I'd try it. See if you can borrow one if you want to save the expense until you know it works. I don't think it can hurt to at least have it in an emergency, especially with your moron of a neighbor.
