i bought a puppy of lab/cocker spaniel mix.....he is so active and playfull..he is just 6 weeks old...and this early stage he listens the command "NO"..he plays alot with my child by chasing him (i dunno what to call this game)..i have one issue on his behaviour.....whenever he sees me he behave lovely and start to lick my feet and run towards me whenever i call his name...but sadly, this only happens when he is feeling hungry...and when he is not HUNGRY he runs from here to there in the home ..i even call his name he look at me but he runs...he just doesnt listens me when he is not hungry..in some of cases..when i tried to catch him and hold him to stop things not to do he growled at me and letting me know that i shud not stop him where is he going or what is he playing......so this means...he has an attitude????...right now he is just a child...but iam thinking of the future when he will be young and when he wont listen me when he is not hungry....then it will hard for me to control him..any good suggestions would be appreciated
The breeder should not have sent the puppy out that young.
Anyways regarding your question you have to remember this is a 6 week old puppy. You cant expect a 6 week old to listen to you when he has no idea what you want from him in the first place....he's a baby.
My advice is to get the Puppy dvd 8 weeks to 8 months that Ed sells and also search for old threads on puppy obedience to give you an idea as well....but to start off you should start crate training if you havent already and everytime he comes to you give him a treat and praise and also word associate the action when he does this.
It sounds like the dvd would be very helpful to you.
Good luck.
