I have a 3.5 month old German Shepherd puppy who's back legs are very cow-hocked. Although they have gotten less cow-hocked in the past 3 weeks I'm very conserned. I took him back to the breeder and he said he would grow out of it in time if not he would give me a new puppy from the next litter. Has any one had a puppy whose back legs were cow-hocked and straightned out? What does this cause later on, health wise.
Thanks
Pokey
I have a five year old female that was cow hocked as a pup, she has straightened up quite a bit. Still visiable when you look from the rear. A layperson might not notice her stance.
It has not affected her ability to do schutzhund. I think this is a genetic disorder as one of her pups also shows to be cowhocked.
if you don't mind, what bloodline is your dog from??
