Hi, I have noticed that quite a few users of this forum have posted a small intro about themselves so I thought I'd do the same. I have only one dog myself (right now) she is a mixed breed-shepherd, rottie, bull mastiff; great dog-and I got from a shelter at eight weeks of age. I named her Ruby and have been training her since she about 16 weeks old. My family had dogs growing up but Ruby is my first and putting her in obedience lit a fire under my #&* to train in other aspects in addition to obedience. I have done very basic prey work and am starting basic tracking skills now. This dog is my pet and because I am no professional trainer this is all mainly for fun at the moment but if there is somewhere I can compete with a mutt, in a year or so I would love to. I plan to become a member of the RCMP and a dog handler therein; so there is a method to my madness <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> I have done a lot of reading from this discussion forum and gained many useful tips and plenty of info too. I look forward to possibly getting to know a few people on this site and learning as much as I can from the real pros. Thanx for reading...

You like swinging for the fence, eh? (RCMP K9). Its a tough duty. Study this board well and you will have a leg up on other prospects for the job. Again, welcome and good luck.
