Hi,
In Bernhard Flinks' videos about drive he is clear that barking is not a desired response in the work. I have learned why that is from this forum and also from this forum that moving the item fast is a manner in which one can keep the dog quiet during this work.
What I am wondering is are there other methods to prevent this hectic behavior (barking at item)? Is there a way to translate to the dog to just shut up while working? And if so when the dog is quiet out of necessity and not all out drive for the prey item will that have negative effects of drive and drive building progress? ...Any exta pointers out there?

The simplest method is to ensure that hectic behavior such as barking for an item earns no reward.
Behaviors that are not rewarded tend to self-extinguish.
