You are getting some really good advice here, but I'll be happy to add my two cents also! I have had my 2 pups on the RAW diet for about 3 months - though not before doing TONS of research (and a lot of help from this site). In regard to the percentages to feed on RAW, the consensus of opinion in the books and articles I have read, and also the way I feed mine is this: 65% RMB (raw meaty bones), 30% muscle meat, and 5% organ meat. The key is variety. Use ground beef, ground turkey, mackerel, chicken gizzards, beef heart, etc., for the muscle meat. I mainly use only chicken backs and wings for the RMBs because they are pups, but I will graduate to thighs and legs when they get their "big" teeth. My one GSD HATES liver, but he loves kidney, so that is what I use for the organ meat. I do supplement with whole milk yogurt, pumpkin, Vitamins C & E and salmon oil. I have chosen not to do the veggies. The great thing about this diet is that you can be flexible - what you don't have in the morning, you can make up for at night.
