Ok. He does bark and fuss whenever I leave him in his kennel and get out of his sight, but he calms down within like, 5 or 10 minutes. If my husband, the pup, and I are all in the yard and I have to go inside for something and leave him out there with my husband, he will follow me to the front porch and stay there until I come back out, but so far he hasn't really shown any destructive behaviors - just barking and howling for a while (except in the crate, where he continues for EVER before he finally stops). It isn't that I was thinking he might have the problem, it just seems like it's common in pet shepherds so I thought I'd ask working dog owners to see what you all had to say about it. I agree with Sammy in that I would think it would be a nerve problem.
