Some Countries raise and kill dogs for meat, but I guess that is ok with you also.
The Hindu religion says it is nothing short of barbaric to consume beef, yet we in North America do so daily. They view dogs as somewhere just above vermin, yet we welcome them into our homes and spent exorbitant amounts of money on their care. Who is right and who is wrong? And are you qualified to make that decision?
Nope <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
Are you? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
The question had to do with should the person feed horse meat. Why would anyone kill horses when there is other meats that are not raised to serve, work, for humans and has been bred as pets.
Some places do see dogs as 'unclean' and do not make them pets, some however also breed and raise lagre breed dogs as a meat.
Maybe I've seen one too many mares in this country America bred only for the Estregon (sorry sp ?) after they have a foal. They are NOT treat as a living animal and are confided to small areas. If they have a colt (male) it is killed right away so the mare can be re-bred, it a filly it is raised so it can be bred. The mares live short horrible lives, when they can't be bred anymore they ARE sold to meat buyers for export.
This is what makes me against feeding horse meat to dogs.
I'm not stupid or unaware of the beliefs about animals in other parts of the world. And really don't like being treated as such.
If you only see horse as animals for meat, you are missing out on a lot.
I have been in horses since I was 12, more recently off more than on, but it is still there. Would I feed horse, no. Do I feel that Joe Schmoe feeding horse CAUSES them to be slaughtered, NO. They end up there for a multitude of reasons. Same as the dogs that die in shelters. Irresponsible breeding and uneducated buyers.
That being said I really do not want a PMU (pregnant mare urine) argument on this board, being that it is in fact a dog training board.
