Thanks so much for you input, I was stumped as what the best course of action should be, I have tried whipping it fast just as he grabs for it but the little bugger gets my hand almost everytime anyway, I will try the tug with string to see if this works better with Niko, Chevy my other boy has no problem grabbing the small sized ball or tug when I'm working with him, he's not as crazy as Niko though and alot smalled then Niko also, Here's another question for you guys Niko is 11 weeks old and weigh's 25lbs
he is large but slim, chevy is 11 weeks old different litter
and weights 15lbs could you tell me which is the average size for a shepard pup, very curious as they are so different in size. P.S. Yes, they are being raised and worked separately, obviously I have lots of time on my hands!! and a little crazy as well both pups from working lines.
That's what I had to do. As a mater of fact, I think I used the tug until my dog was 13 months old - then he *finally* figured out the ball was worth going after.
Slighty different training for almost every different dog - it's what makes this interesting! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Just wanted to let everyone know tug worked perfectly after I cut handle off now he is biting the tug and not my hand ect. So thanks Will it worked!!!!
