Hi All,
Remember my underweight corgi? Well she is turned 16 weeks old last week. Anyway there was a twist to the story. Last week, my corgi weight 7.5 lbs. Like a dwarf. So it must be inbred because a stud dog appeared 4x in the pedigree. My Email friend disagree because the name is a famaus breeder showwinner. Anyway the topic shift to teething. I say Thank God the lower molar are finished and the upper molars are just erupting. But Fangs and baby teeth has still there.
????
At this point she quickly email back point out baby teeth are the first to fall out. The think you better get an appointment to the vet to check the teeth. You have a 8 week old corgi. Baby teeth has 28 teeth. 42 permanent. Baby incisor 6. She was right. My pedigree was ok but date of birth was doctored to appear puppy was older. Turns out that (my friend does breeder/rescue)some puppymill do not like the job of weaning the pups out hence doctored the date of birth eventhough the pedigree is real.
Mistakes...
1)Vaccination - 8 weeks old. Colostrum protected. Will go thru vaccination protocol again.
2) Since I thought it was 14 weeks at that time, I bathe her and towel dry. Then brush throughly. Later she didn't play and refuse to eat. Fever. Get paracetamol and she was ok in2 hours. I believe aspirin is better but Idon't know the dosage. The provincial vet cellphone was out.
3) Also a good thing I persist giving her 6 small servings then 5.... She is one in 3X a day. And just right for her size.
