My 11 month GSD makes a snaping or clicking sound when he gets up from a down position. The sound seems to come from the lower portion of his front legs (somewhere between or around elbow and paw). It doesn't seem to affect his ability to run, play , etc. and he doesn't mind if I manipulate his front paws/legs. This has been noticeable for a couple of months and our vet said that it may be due to rapid growth and perscribed Glucosamine and Condroitin (spelling?). We will go back in another couple of weeks if the condition continues.
Has anyone seen this before? Is there a name for it?
Interestingly, I have had a similar condition in my ankles (called tendon snap) since childhood where they 'crack' unusually often during walking or other normal activities.
