I am about to take my 14 month female GSD in for her shots.
We are not in lyme country and she is not kenneled. My vet says she needs the DHLP booster, Parvovirus booster, Corona booster and rabies.
From what I have gleaned within this site and from Dr. Dobbs recommendations she really only needs:
the MLV distemper/parvo booster
--then 3 weeks later--
the killed 3 year rabies.
The reason I'm tentative is the 1 year mark. From what I've read it's the vaccines given *after* 6 months that have long term adult conferred immunity.
From here on out I will titer test - but - for her 1st adult vaccines I want to make sure she's covered... Am I missing anything?
You need the 9 weeks and 12 weeks parvo/distemper vaccination and the rabies and that is it. There is a ton on info on this board and on the main site about the damage that vaccinations can cause. Make sure you educate yourself before you make your decision and don't always trust your vet. Vaccinations are a major cash cow for vets so of course they are going to push them on you. Good luck.
