Does anyone know anything about Hardy & Sabine Ernsting, Vom Pegasus German Shepherds, or the schutzhund club, Podium Schutzhund club in West VA? They seem really nice and I wanted to know what their profesional reputation was. Thanks

Willy,
I haven't been up there for a few years, but went to a helper seminar at their place when they were still in the Leesburg area. Hardy and Sabine have been in the sport for quite some time and have been successful. I cannot say that I know them well personally, but on the occaisons that I've been to their club, they've been very nice, have well trained dogs and have helped lead an active & successful club in the region.
Molly Graf could probably give more first hand info since she very active in the sport and has always been closer to that area of VA than I.
I have about the same level of experience with them. I don't know them personally, but I did train my male with Hardy for the conformation ring. He also handled my dog at the show for which we were preparing. Both Hardy and Sabine were very nice, personable and professional.

Thank you for the info. I am going to take a GSD I adopted aout of our pound to them for evaluation. He only responds to german comands, platz, sitzen, heir, foos, bleib, will do a great recall, he will do a good building search when told voran or such, and will search vehicles, alerting on my friends trunk when she had had her gun bag in it. Oh he really knows lass es, (barn cats are thankfull for this <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> and when he almost got one, did a great "out" when I yelled "aus"
And on top of this he is faboulous with my 4 little kids.
He did grab my husband on the second night we had him in a dominance play, but we have used Ed's methods with him and that was the end of it. Nothing in life is free, and when all the food is the alpha male's and all the toys too, your place in life becomes clear. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'm a member of the Podium club and train there every weekend. Yes it's a very good club and Hardy is an excellent trainer. They do breed GSD under the kennel Vom Pegasus. But most of the working and sport dogs come out of their Mal kennel: Malinois vom Roten Sturm
I can't say enough good things about the club right now. I just spent the last couple of weeks getting to work my dog with Kim Hechler from Germany: Podium Belgian Shepherd Working Dog Club
I know a few other club members are on this board as well.
