your dog needs to learn that following on the leash isn't optional....
this is a pretty standard early training technique. i'm sure others here can probably explain it better than i did.
Alice, I tried what you described today, twice. It worked! Although I was always dragging her around, the second time I did this, I felt the resistance on the leash decreased. She started to walk, but still was trying to pull the leash to another direction. I'll follow your instruction and do it for a week. Hope it'll work out nicely! I was worried that she'll hate me if I do this thing to her, but she didn't! Thank you much for the detailed and practical instructions. And I believe you've explained it perfectly. I got the point: I should not be the one who's trying to please – my dog should. :P
