I'm sure most here already have the English rules for SchH / IPO / VPG. But because ZVV titles are only done in the Czech Republic, it is hard to find English translations of those rules.
They are done in Czech and Slovakia... And there is not a single police dog that doesnt require this title. All the imported dogs have SVV and if they are dual purpose then they have other things, building search, , at least 4 hrs old track, bomb search... depends on the department and use of the dog
Before you sit down to do your translating, can you give us a summary description of the training/trialing, and how it differs from Schutzhund? From the sounds of the other posters, it sounds intriguing, and I'd love to know just the basics of what it's like.
I translated most of the Rules. I need to have an American look at it so it makes sence
The difference is in the level of obedience and the level of bite work. Tracking is almost the same.
OB zvv1 is I think about the same just a bit more agility part.
Protection seems to be also about the same.
zvv2,zvv3 has much more OB and Protection side is harder (JMHO)
It is hard to get zvv3 title not that many dogs will complete it..just a lot of controll and OB, Ob is done from far I think the dog is about 20 feet doing OB (hand signals can be done as well) dog needs to learn to crawl without the handler and also the agility part is pretty hard, dog on a beam(ladderlike steps) and 6 feet high (not every dog will do that). Jump almost 6 feet tall and it is not an A wall. (dumbbell part is also over this high jump.
Just a little description. I already put zvv1 and 2 rutine on my dog, not perfect but we will get there.
It just it a bit different.
The only difference I observed in shutz is more Walls and and changes in movin heeling Down, stay, sit and transport.. not much of a change.
zvv also has Attack on the handler and more Realistick life sutuation. It is no ppd training but it has more "real" situations. That is why dogs imported from Czech/Slovak if trained just fly through Schutz.. they basically know it already there is not much challenge
I was literatelly KICKED out of two ZVV3 trials.. Oh well live and learn.
Anita it sure is.. Iam just looking for a decent publisher.
ZVV is much more fun I think at least. I do the zvv rutine in my club..I just need to get to those jumps and beams somehow..
