Some of my friends from this forum know that last January we imported an 8 week old Malinois male from Belgium. I was looking for a new stud dog prospect for Kaiserhaus...
Demetrius is now almost 12 months old, very social and quite tall. He will be 'oversized', not a compact Malinois by any stretch of the imagination.
He is a friendly dog, with AWESOME food drive but medium prey drive. I would like to find a home for this dog where he could be an active companion or possible obedience/tracking dog. He walks on a leash, knows sit and down and has had some drive building work done with a small tug and ball on a string. He prefers the tug but his drive is still about a level 4.
I want extreme dogs for my breeding program, and sadly, Demetrius is what I would call a Normal dog... actually laid back for a Malinois. This doesn't mean he won't be a perfect dog for someone, he just doesn't have what it takes to be used in my breeding program or to be a top sport or police dog.
It's only fair to find him a home where he gets the attention he deserves.
***Sounds like there's a few environments he would 'suit'.
>>* I cleared this with Ed before posting*
***Hmmmm...I don't know about that...are you sure??!!! lol <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
hi B! Nice to see you here.
Demetrius is a nice dog, just doesn't have that EXTREME temperament and drive that I believe is necessary for a stud dog.. he has Nitro's footsteps to follow in and that's not an easy task!
Demetrius (we call him D) would be a great 'entry level' Malinois for someone who likes the breed but isn't quite ready for that over the top drive that many working line Mals have..he's a more 'middle of the road' kind of dog. He is going to be extremely handsome, just large.
I don't think I will get in TOO much trouble with Ed... lol..
