Hey guys, this is a great subject (a little off topic, but great none the less)....I am in South Dakota and although they have just passed state standards for Law Enforcement K-9's, they do not have State standards for SAR K-9's. We started South Dakota Search and Rescue Dog Association for the purpose of pulling teams together (not away from their existing teams) to form a training/seminar avenue for all involved in SAR and a statewide directory that is easy to access for all organizations if they need to call ANY SAR Team out. Fortunately for Nancy, her state wants to work together. Our SAR Teams around the state are a little harder to get to know and invite as there is alot of, what seems is, competition (for lack of a better word). Our team is in SAR to have professional, ethical and compassionate SAR Teams, Handlers and K-9's for the victim, bottom line. Things are happening here, just slowly. I firmly believe that what comes around goes around.
As far as puppy games, I am open also as I will be picking up my nine week old MAL from the airport Monday. I have wonderful team mates with airscent GSD's that are willing and able to help me but you can never have too many people to learn from. I run a Bloodhound right now. Bloodhounds are completely different as far as drive.
Happy Holidays.
