Product Description

I had my first belt leash made back on the 1990's when I workled as a K-9 handler on the sheriff Department. If I had to release my police dog to apprehend a suspect I could drop my 6 foot lead to keep my hands free and still have access to my belt leash when the time came to get my police dog back on a leash.

The length of these leashes depends on the waist size of the handler. Those handlers with larger waist will obviously have a little longer lbelt leash.

These leather belt leashes are also perfect to take on walks. The leash works as a normal leash, and then when it is not in use, you can hook it around your waist. These leashes are handmade from Latigo leather with an imported snap and an o-ring in the loop handle. The leather belt leashes are 1/2 an inch wide.

The snaps on our leather dog leashes and collars are made from the highest quality solid stainless steel. These snaps are sewn and then pop riveted to insure the highest security available. This is very important in Schutzhund and police protection training where a broken leash can cause disaster.

Need it to be longer? Perhaps a pull tab would be the solution to give the extra inches needed.

MADE IN THE USA

Leerburg leather products are works of art.

The cow hides used to make all of Leerburg's leather are hand selected for Leerburg before tanning. We need and use the thickest hides available. Our hides go through over 85 steps in a tanning process that takes over a month. There are many types of Latigo leather that are made in Mexico, India, or Pakistan, but none can compare to the quality of Leerburg’s Latigo leather.

Once tanned, our Leerburg Leather is delivered to the Amish family that crafts our leather products right here in Wisconsin. Our 4 Amish craftsmen have been making Leerburg leather products since 1990.

These 5 Amish craftsmen hand cut, sew, pop-rivet, and tailor all of our leather products. We have yet to come across another leather product that measures up to our products' quality.

In 2015, we switched from using brass or bronze hardware to stainless steel. Stainless Steel is stronger and lasts a lifetime. You can go and find a cheaper leather product somewhere else, but the quality will not measure up to our products.

100% of Leerburg leather products are made in Wisconsin. We don't use leather from India, Pakistan, or Mexico.

Love this leash! Surpass my expectations across the board. My go to leashes and they really last. I would give this 5 stars, HOWEVER…the first 2 I bought were perfect. A client took one by mistake and loved too much to return it! So, I bought another. This one had a smaller clasp than my others, and I prefer the old larger clasp when attaching to a dog. Still, I work with them every day and love them.

Beast Leash ever! And for casual walks the best option. My leash is already 12 years old and really looks as good as new. I am sure this leash will last a couple generations of dogs.

I have had this leash for a few months now and I LOVE IT! I have a service dog and this is amazing. I can attach the leash to my belt loop with a harbinger clip so I have hands free and it is easy to keep with me by putting it around my waist or i can double it to have a very short leash depending on where we are. My girl is still in training.

The only thing that might make this better would be to have a clip somehow so you can easily attach to your belt loop!

thanks so much Leerburg!

This leash is amazing! I work at a boarding kennel and a doggie daycare and see hundreds of dogs a year. This leash works wonderfully with everyone of them. I wear the leash when I am out in the yard with the daycare dogs supervising playtime in case something happens. If I need to leash a dog and keep them near me this leash works great.

I also use the leash in the boarding kennel for walking dogs around in the kennel if a slip lead is not available. This leash keeps the dogs very close to me when I walk them down the hallway (this is important so fence fights do not occur).

This leash is also very comfortable on your wrist if your dog pulls. This leash is also a great leash to take as a backup leash when you walk your dog.

Of all the leashes I've seen and tried nothing compares to this leash by Leerburg!

Best leash I have ever owned. Its so tough I've been using one as a reward on walks (yes I'm sure NOT recommended), but its lasted 3 years of abuse and is still fine. Great product :)

Excellent product as usual from Leerburg. I use this lead for my GSD puppy who gets a little too excited sometimes.
