Do you think I can raise a puppy to be able to stay alone during my 8 or 9 hour work day by the time he is 2 years old? Or should I get a dog sitter?

Full Question:
Hello! I love your videos on youtube!!
I had 10 years a Briard, now I want to get a doberman.
I have 2 more years of university, and I have a lot of time. In 2 years I will have to work mo-fri for 8/9 hours each day. I want to jog or cycle with the dog in the morning before work. After work I want to excersize my dog, mentally/athletically and also do igp(especially in the weekend).
Do you think I can get my dog to stay alone for the 8-9 hours per day at an age of 2 years if I train it from the beginning(in small steps)? If not do you think a dog sitter could be a good alternative(during the time I will be away when the dog is 2 years old).
Obviously I am willing to train my Dog the best I can and invest alot of time in this. I will be guided by a professional. I just try to find out if my lifestyle would be ok for the dog.

I would be happy to receive an answer

greetings from Europe!!!

Cindy Cindy's Answer:
The answer to your questions are "it depends" :)

Like many things in dog training and ownership, the personality and temperament of the dog you get along with the time and training you invest will make a big difference. No two dogs are exactly alike so I think you should make a plan but also have a backup plan in case your original plan isn't working out as you hoped.

I think that by 2 years of age most dogs can be home while their owners work and if not a pet sitter or dog walker is a good option.

Good luck to you and let me know if you need guidance in the future! :)
