Product Description
Made exclusively for Leerburg in Wisconsin, USA!
The 2-Snap Agitation Harness is a quick and easy harness to put on your dog. Made from genuine Latigo leather, you won't find a better quality agitation harness than our own. This harness is sewn and pop-riveted with a combination of the highest quality chrome, nickel-plated steel, stainless steel, and copper hardware to ensure the maximum security. We know how important it is to have a strong and durable agitation harness, especially when used for Schutzhund and police K9 training.
Our agitation harness is designed to fit almost every working dog size. This harness comes with an adjustable girth size from 29" to 39". It's flexible and won't chafe against your dog's skin. Made with a sherpa padded breastplate, it will absorb the shock of hitting the end of a line during bite work.
We're often asked if a trainer should buy an agitation harness or a wide leather agitation collar for bite work. This will depend solely on your dog. Some dogs will pull so hard on a collar that they choke. If this is your dog, then we recommend you use an agitation harness instead.
This agitation harness should not be used as a tracking harness. It is too heavy for long tracks. This harness was designed with security and comfort for bite work, not tracking. We recommend you purchase our Tracking Harness with Handle instead.
What is girth?
Girth is taken from the widest part of the dog's chest behind the forelegs.
Made in the USA
The cow hides used to make all of Leerburg's leather are hand-picked for Leerburg before tanning. We need and use the thickest hides available. Our hides go through over 85 steps in a tanning process that takes over a month. Many types of Latigo leather are made in Mexico, India, or Pakistan, but none can compare to the quality of Leerburg's latigo leather made in North America.
Once tanned, our Leerburg Leather is delivered to the Amish family that crafts our leather products right here in Wisconsin. Our 4 Amish craftsmen have been making Leerburg leather products since 1990.
These 5 Amish craftsmen hand-cut, sew, pop-rivet, and tailor all of our leather products. We have yet to come across another leather product that measures up to our products' quality.

I have been using this harness for a few months for protection training, and it works great. It is of extremely high quality as expected from Leerburg products. I do not doubt that this harness will last for decades with a little care. It for sure is worth the money. I love everything about it. It is very functional, and it also looks great. The padding seems to be very comfortable for the dog. My favorite things are the clips for an easy on and off, and the four adjustable straps on the neck and chest. This makes it very easy to adjust to your dog's shape. I usually have problems finding fitting gear for my dog due to his body shape (Doberman). Very well-designed harness! Thank you Leerburg!
Good evening,
We couldn’t be happier with our new harness, collar and lead, thank you very much.
The quality and workmanship is absolutely 2nd to none, I’m sure these garments will last the rest of my lifetime never mind my dogs.
I’ll be back soon for some other pieces.
Thanks again!
Regards,
Alistair from Scotland
What can I say? Leather quality is far superior to any Ive ever personally used for K9 gear. When it comes to leather and biothane, I don’t believe anybody can compete with their quality and craftsmanship. It’s obvious from the second you open the shipping box. Everything I own from Leerburg( leather) never lets me down and lasts.
Like everything, initial fit takes some time to get right. Some trial and error.
Hardware is far superior quality than you will get from most places offering the same level equipment at a better price.
My only complaint is the synthetic wool material used for breast plate padding. It leaves a lot to be desired and definitely not up to the quality of the harness itself. It’s not really full and thins out around the edges. It seems a lot of the material has been pulled out so it’s sort of patchy. End of the day the padding is a luxury. Once the leather breaks in nice it’s not really necessary. It’s also something that can be replaced and/or changed fairly easily.
I still feel as if they could provide a better quality padding: at least, more full.
I bought this for the leather and construction. I’m confident this will last for as long as it needed and remain comfortable for the dogs.
To be clear, there are leather agitation harnesss out there who charge way more than their harness is valued that have much lesser quality padding.
I don’t believe you will find a finer leather agitation harness. I’ve tried.

The harness is beautifully crafted but the padding on the front breast plate disappointingly thin. The harness itself is extremely heavy not at all what I expected. Probably appropriate for 100 pound plus dogs but not for the average female German Shepherd for sure.

I bought this harness in 2017. This harness has been my go-to for years. even when folks say I don't trust leather most folks don't care for them and they break. I care for mine. Well this year (2021) my D-ring sheered/ broke with a 84 pound Malinois attached, glad my helper was quick and ready. I knew my 30 day return window was up, but wrote to Leerburg and sent photos asking if they can do anything for me. Why yes we can! return it to us, we'll have the Amish repair it, and call you with a $15.00 repair fee unless they find other issues. This is customer service, and "we stand by our products". You do not see this anymore. This Harness is an investment in safety and comfort for your dog in agitation work. As for the D-ring sheering it was the perfect storm, buckle on tie-out, stressing the weld of the D-ring, and pure force of a big angry dog. But the fact I could send it in for a repair vice buying a new one, priceless, and worth it every time! Best leather harness on the market.
Durable and comfortable for the dog, I've had my current harness for over 15 years and it's broken in but not even close to being ready for replacement. Great investment

By far the best agitation harness we have tried. It is so easy to clip on and I love the leather. Many other harnesses we have seen and tried have a bunch of straps flapping around or don't fit securely. The Leerburg harness has been a game changer in our IGP training.

Received our Protection harness today, and could not believe how beautiful it was! Everything from the quality/softness of the leather, heavy duty clips, to the expert craftsmanship was more than I had expected. My favorite part is the generous sizing on this harness. This will be a piece of our training equipment that will last far beyond the lifespan of our dog (s).
This is an amazing harness. It is worth every dollar I paid for it. The leather and craftsmanship is second to none... This harness will allow your dog to work longer and harder because of the design. Because of the two snaps/clips it is very easy to put on and take off. Time saver... WOW!! If you are thinking about this and concerned because of the price don't be. This is a harness if kept properly will last you a life time.
Why this Harness?
After thorough research of K9 multipurpose harnesses, I needed to ensure that specific characteristics were satisfied: Quality leather and hardware for durability, comfort, longevity, craftsmanship, versatility, and cost.
I chose the Padded Leather Agitation Harness which has the removable breast for the purpose of also tracking which is the primary for my K9.
After proper fit, my K9 Bud seems to have good flexibility as well as comfort...very happy K9. The harness was used extensively in different environmental terrains: Wet /Dry/rocky/swamp/wooded... and the harness is the best quality I have had. For Bud...the fit is great, which enhances comfort. Its a strong harness, build to last... I want to thank Leerburg, and the “Local craftsmen” who made a fine harness.

I have used this product (or one of it's predecessors) for ten years. My dogs (Jäger, Kriegerherz, and now Rin Tin Tin) have worn their harness from sunrise to sunset and then some. I have never had any complaint about any Leerburg product. I'm ordering my third harness since 2006 not due to shortcomings in the product, but an unattended teething puppy or upgrades that made the harness demonstrably improved. My dogs have served several functions as a handicapped service, therapy, and personal protection dogs concurrently.
Just received this harness. The quality is absolutely great. I have a 100 pounds GSD. It fits him perfectly. I love all leather products sold by Leerburg, including leather leash. Best products and best quality you can't find somewhere else.

Been training dogs for many years, seen all kinds of harnesses in my time. Have to say this is the nicest harnesses I have ever seen, the craftsmanship and quality with this one is top notch.. Very pleased with my purchase.. And you should see how proud my boy is to wear it, he just seemed to know it was his right out of the box.. O.K. maybe it showed a little, it is Christmas ya know. ;-)
This is an incredible harness. It is carefully crafted from the finest materials and the workmanship is unparalleled anywhere at any price. On top of that, it is so easy to put on and take off even the highest energy, fidgeting dog. Lastly, it is almost infinitely adjustable. The leather is better than anything I have ever seen. There is no question it will last a lifetime if you cared for.
I absolutely love this harness. I wanted a leather harness with a wide, padded chest, and this one was perfect! I have a big, strong dog that loves to pull on walks, and with this harness he doesn't choke himself to death. I also love that I can use the handle if I need to keep him close, for loading and unloading in and out of the car, etc. It's comfortable for him to wear and it's super easy to take on and off with the two snaps. I would buy another one of these if I were to ever get a second dog.
I have an 80 lb. Malinois who goes absolutely berserk when it's time for bite work. An agitation collar just isn't enough, so I invested in this harness.
The 2-snap configuration makes it very easy to put on and take off quickly. Even under the maximum strain my dog can put on it (i.e. frustration building with a decoy while connected to a static line) it distributes the force well enough to keep him from ever choking or gagging. It's also extremely adjustable. He first started wearing it when he was under 60 lbs. and I was able to make adjustments as he grew. Even at 80 lbs. there is plenty of room to expand. The leather is definitely high quality, and was built with excellent craftsmanship, and I have no doubt I will be training with this harness for years to come.
