The UKC Nosework Kit is a small portable training aid that allows you to train nosework anywhere, anytime. This kit contains five target odors used in UKC Scent Sport that people train nosework dogs to search for as well as everything else you will need to get started in nosework.

Each UKC Scent Work Kit contains 5 jars with non-scented cotton swabs for each of the five common target odors; Birch, Anise, Clove, Vetiver, and Myrrh. An eye dropper is provided to use with each vial of target odor. Included as well, is a small aerated metal tin (colors may vary) to hold a scented cotton swab and a magnet that allows you to hide training aids on or under metal objects. This kit will last you many, many scent work training sessions. The entire kit is contained inside of a small waterproof, impact-resistant, hard plastic case that makes safely transporting all your scent work training aids convenient and simple.

Whether you’re training a beginner dog or refining advanced skills, this kit provides a reliable foundation for successful UKC scent detection work.

About the Oils

• Birch – Betula lenta
• Anise – Pimpinella anisum
• Clove – Eugenia caryophyllata
• Myrrh – Commiphora myrrha
• Vetiver – Vetiveria zizanoides

These odors are introduced progressively through the levels of competition, and all should be pure, single-source essential oils—never blended or synthetic.

Dogs are trained to detect and alert to specific essential oil odors hidden in a variety of search environments. The sport is designed to showcase a dog’s natural scenting ability while promoting teamwork, focus, and confidence. In this sport, dogs must locate target odors in Container Search, Interior Search, Exterior Search, Vehicle Search, and Handler Discrimination. UKC Scent work is open to all dog breeds and tests both scent detection and obedience to the handler.

The content of the Aniseed vile may freeze during shipping. If this occurs the oil will change molecular state from a liquid to a powder. This is not damaged and it will return to its liquid form after it is given time to settle (approximately 1 – 2 days).
