Are Parvaid or Vibactra Plus only good for sick animals or can I use them as a prevention for pups going to homes and being exposed to all sorts of viruses and potential stress?

Full Question:
Cindy,

We have a litter of 14 black and tan bloodhounds that were supplemented with Ed's amazing formula. They look fantastic at 3 weeks old.

All sizes of pups are consistent, coats shiny like minks, and puppies are very healthy and content. We ordered Ed's DVD Whelping Puppies and educated ourselves on his excellent level of expert knowledge on newborns. We did not lose one pup. We are extremely grateful for Ed taking his time to put a DVD together with so much amazing information.

We are going to order two the stainless steel feeding saucers today. Before placing the order, my question to you is, should we start the Parvaid or Vibactra Plus in the formula and then with the raw hamburger meat diet in a few days?

I thought it would be a good idea to have new owners of pups continue with the drops. Are the two products only good for sick animals or can I use them as a prevention for pups going to homes and being exposed to all sorts of viruses and potential stress?

Cindy Cindy's Answer:
Hi,

Congratulations on the puppies, fourteen! Wow. :)

You can use the Parvaid and Vibactra plus as a preventative for parvo, etc. but I think it's best administered with the dropper directly to each pup (as opposed to using it in formula or solid food), so you are sure each pup gets the correct dose.

I've used these products with puppies that have non-specific diarrhea with good results. I think it would be a great thing to have on hand, especially with such a large litter.
