I have a concern about calories. While I still feed my 2 dogs Honest Kitchen's Force with cooked meat, I am considering Verve. Is it less calories?
Full Question:
Hi Cindy,I have 2 poodle mix dogs they are both 3 yrs old. I have been feeding them force for over a year now and they get along great with it. I put some high quality canned on top of it and some cooked meat. My question is about calories, I was considering switching to Verve, Is it less calories? Is it ok to switch back and forth between force and verve? They are fairly active but being small it is easy to put on weight. The canned food I use is Spot's Stew & Merrick. They also get a Merrick flossie (a beef tendon spiral chew) every night and raw bones about once a week. I need to place an order soon but I want to ask you this first. To my knowledge my dogs have no allergies they do not itch and they get salmon oil 3 times a week and dream coat by halo pet 4 times a week - it is oils also.
Thanks for your time!
Patti
Cindy's Answer:
Here is the nutritional info on all the formulas of Honest Kitchen. The Verve does have fewer calories. It is absolutely fine to switch back and forth between the formulas, and I actually recommend it to cover all the nutritional needs our dogs have.
I hope this helps.
