I have an 8 month old that HAD 1 testicle that never dropped. I do not want to get him neutered. Is there a test we could do to see if he only has 1? If I do not get him fixed after 2 years is it dangerous for problems to arise?

Cindy's Answer:
Have you had him checked by a vet to see if the testicle is easily found by palpation? Sometimes they are right “there” ready to drop and other times they are up hidden in the abdomen. A vet will have to check him over to determine this.
A permanently retained testicle WILL likely become cancerous but not until later in the dog’s life. Vets will try to freak you out and tell you to neuter them right away, but if this was my dog I’d wait and see if it drops and if not I’d get him neutered after 2 years of age.
I hope this helps.
