If the Everlasting Treats happen to be swallowed without much chewing, will they digest soon enough to not harm the dog?
Full Question:
Hi Cindy - we have Greater Swiss Mountain dogs. They eat everything in sight and anything they chance to find. Size doesn't seem to matter, it all goes down. My question is, if these treats happen to be swallowed without much chewing will they digest soon enough to not harm the dog. Our girls are on raw diet and we have to be watchful that they chew, chew, chew before swallow. Recently one of them threw up a complete chicken thigh. It is very troubling. I am always on the lookout for treats, but worry about the consequences of what out vet terms their dietary indiscretion.
Cindy's Answer:
Hi Carolyn,
I think that if my dogs had the tendency to swallow items, I wouldn’t use the treat refills. I know they are digestible but most dogs chew them up or shave small bits at a time. I’m not sure I’d be willing to risk a problem if they were my dogs, better safe than sorry.
I hope this helps.
