At what age do you introduce Honest Kitchen to your litters of pups?
Full Question:
Cindy, I am currently feeding Honest Kitchen?to my adult dogs and recently contacted the company to ask what age I could begin feeding our puppies. I believe the gal I talked to was Kat and she suggested that I ask another breeder that was using the products with their puppies.?Can you give me any suggestions in regards to when to introduce the Honest Kitchen and any other information you think may be helpful. I just ran accross your website for the first time and will definitely mark it as a favorite! We breed Rottweilers and currently feed Orijen to our dogs, as well as Honest Kitchen. I love the food and the dogs do so well with it! I am looking forward to any suggestions you may have for me.
Thank you so much.
Cindy's Answer:
Usually anytime after about 4-5 weeks you can start adding small amounts of rehydrated HK to whatever you are weaning the pups onto.
We start using our bottle feeding formula in a shallow pan, then we add ground meat and eventually a variety of different ingredients (like HK). I'd refer you to our bottle feeding page, scroll part way down to see the weaning process (about 1/3 of the page).
We also have a question & answer section on Honest Kitchen.
I hope this helps!
