They are usually licensed to a purchasing Agency. I would sell you ours I hate that dang thing!!!!!!!!!! I know there is something better but for the life of me cant remember what was suggested to me.
I forked over 100 bucks on that commandk9 program and spent more time typing entries than actually doing the training. The software was hard to use in my opinion. I thought the KATS program would be better.

Mike,
I wanted to drop you a quick note and offer you some assistance on KATS. I'm sorry you seem unhappy with it, but I don't know what to advise without an explanation of what the problem is. For what its worth we just put out another new free update in November (which makes a total of six free updates we have provided for the Generation III system) and overall our user ratings are pretty complimentary. In fact, the system has enjoyed some very positive results in the courtroom.
Whenever I find someone is unhappy with it, it is usually something to do with not being able to get the system set up for some reason, or a lack of understanding with how the system works. Once they get past that, the feedback we receive is that it is extremely easy to use. Also, anytime anyone has been frustrated with it, and actually called for assistance and received help on it, they are up and running in short order, so that may be all it takes. Also, if you haven't checked on the most recent updates, you should jump on the website at kats.ca and download the latest releases. It has come a long ways in the last two years.
Every update we have released provides new functionality from suggestions and/or change requests we receive from officers using it on the streets. If you need some help with it, don't hesitate to get in touch with me and I'll be happy to help you out.
Also, to Dennis, check your email, I sent to some info on our competitive upgrade package to help reduce your cost if you do go ahead with KATS if you are still in need of a package. Regardless of what system you do go with, ensure you at least go with something, even if it is a paper log. It will be worth its weight in gold if you are ever in need in a lawsuit. If you want to get in touch directly for assistance my email is rseden@policek9.com
We just switched our department over to KATS this year after 5 years with another software vendor. We are VERY happy with KATS ease of use. Bob has been extremely helpful getting our system exactly how we wanted it….. to the degree that I feel bad that we bother him so much. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

It's never a bother Matt, I appreciate the vote of confidence. Thanks.
