Has anyone else been slacking in there training this time of year? I find myself being to busy and know I will pay for it as my puppy is now almost 11 months and needs more work per day not less. Someone make me feel better!!
I haven't been able to attend training since November...I'm hoping to start back in January...we really miss it. I have been trying to do obedience in the house...wish I lived somewhere warm. Hope that helps you feel better

I read a suggestion a few months ago from Old Earth Dog Bob Scott that inspired me to think up inside games. I know my games are not all real training, but it IS exercise and fun for the days when it's pouring buckets here. My goal in this weather is to get the structured exercise (walks) in no matter what, and to keep up the general obedience.
Gawd, tell me about it...it takes too long having to put sweaters and everything just to get outside. I make up for it with 'porch games', and at the very least I assure myself that the wilder they get, the more spirit they'll have. Or something like that.
You bunch of sissys! We've been training a minimum of 3 time a week this past month. Temps in the teens, snow and wind. Try the catalitic hand warmers from Sam's store. For 15 dollars, you can get a whole box of them and they last an easy 8-9 hours. They fit in your gloves, shoes, and YEP! even yer shorts!
I'm working bunches of overtime at the Post Office and my dog just went into heat. the month of December is shot for training.
I train with my dog in drive building and obedience and play with him as much as I can, but doing any bite work or agitation with him and my helper is few and far between at the moment, we both have family commitments and other xmas commitments that make our schedules conflict. It'll probably be some time in January before we have time to work again, unless we can find some time on Monday.
