My nine month old puppy doesn't want to bite on any jute tugs or sleeves or even burlap for that matter. She'll mouth it for a second and drop it. The cheap ass knoted rope toy I got from Petsmart she'll chase and bite on all evening. How can I convince everybody to make thier bite sleeves out of that cheap rope toy material. OR how can I get her to start likeing/biteing the jute? I'm going to wrap the rope toy in jute and smear with PeautButter or bacon grease and let you guy know how well that works this evening at the club. Any other suggestions would be apprieciated
I'd put all her other toys away, kennel her, and have her only interaction with you be with a jute tug. She doesn't want to play, than she goes back in her kennel. A few days of that she'll have lots of pent up drive and hopefully she'll direct it at the jute.

She's been in the kennel since 6am, slapped the fence with the jute tug. She's starting to load up, Unfortunatly she's turned into Mommy's new baby and doesn't stay in her kennel more than 12 hours out of the week
That's really funny Dennis! Good luck with your pup. The only idea I had was maybe she has a retained puppy tooth that is hurting? But, at 9 months that shouldn't be the case.
Its not a tooth problem. She likes her toy. she can bite hard when she want to. She ripped out my thumbnail trying to get at it. I wrapped her toy in burlap this evening and got her to chase and bite the jute tug. It seemed to help. I guess I can put her toy in the sleeve next time
That's disappointing. Her pedigree is all DDR/Czech working lines. Her parents are Sch dogs, her male littermate loves to bite anything that moves. How the hell can you tell what a pup's going to be when there just 8 weeks old. Lesson learned. Buy a green dog
