My question is. What is the Table? Why is it used? I noticed at this weekends training that 2 of the dogs, an adult Standard Schnauzer and adult Doberman were placed on an elevated table and hooked up, via harness. The agitator gently, using eye contact and posturing, began to menace the dogs while handler remained close.(standing beside dog) What are they trying to accomplish with this. Adult Schnauser was told to,"Revier", and the agitator would swing tug letting dog bite and then stand still while dog bit, dropping the tug. The Doberman was agitated lss strongly and only seemed to be allowed to bark and growl. This was only my first time I had seen this from the club. The particular dog owners were not present during other meetings. I myself am new to the sport and seeing how this was the last bit of instruction for the day and my dog did not participate in it I went home to do some questioning on my own. I have since talked to a friend and he insisted I contact Tom Breneman, and inform him of my question. I have since emailed Tom and am waiting for response. This is my first club and I am eager to learn but my friend said that Table Training was defenitely a no no. I have "Schutzhund Theory and Training Methods" and "Advanced Schutzhund", books but can find no reference to this type of training. Any advice greatly appreciated, Jamey Metz

If you read the Leerburg site and get videos from Ed you will see that Ed (I respect what he has to say, and everything I read from him and apply works ) doesnt agree with this sort of training at all.
Not sure where I saw what he had to say but after reading it I wouldnt let my dog go near anyone who trains there dogs in that manner.
Hopefully you can find yourself another club.
