If I remember right, Ed you are going to train as a helper and get your dog worked at the same club.
Right?
What I would want and ask for would be a lesson plan and or broucher usually the philosophy of the club purpose and general ideas are mentioned. I'd want or ask about a lesson plan or outline of progression that the course will follow.
I'd take a note pad to write down topics, books and terminology to research and ask about later.
If the class is for you, training as a helper it will be more of a class room setting or learning session for you. I'd only ask questions if I trully don't understand what being said. Mostly I'd be taking notes of class training procedure and whats expected.
If its for your puppy, Once the class start I'd watch for how motivational the trainer's techniques are and how my puppy respondes to his direction. I forgot how old you puppy is a lot depends on the dogs age and present training.
This frist class will probably just be a continuation of the testing the puppies temperment and where his play/prey drive is.
Yeah I'm gonna hold off on training myself as a helper for now. I really want to learn but I think it might be a bit much for me to take in while just starting my dog in a club enviroment. I want to have a clear head and be focused on him for now because me learning to be a helper isnt for him. He is 11 months old. Birthday next month...... damb hes growing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
As for taking notes now, should I take notes on whats being done and the repititions?
The club competes in French ring. It's a real nice atmospher and everyone is very friendly and gave me straight up honest answers last time I was there. There are looking forward to me joining. Its was a warm welcome from every one there. I feel positive about joining.
