When can I expect a puppy's teeth to fall out? I noticed my nine week old puppy chewing on a chew toy and noticed some blood on it. I looked inside his mouth and saw what appears to be a red socket where a tooth use to be at.
My pup started teething at 4 1/2 months. I still have his teeth. It is hard to believe his teeth were that small compared to now at 9 months. They get big real quick.
Congrats on your Leerburg pup by the way. How is your other dog taking it? As I recall he had some dominance issues. I hope to be able to have a Leerburg pup one day.
Actually I took a flashlight and looked inside my pups mouth. Now I am not so sure a tooth is broken/missing. The pup was moving alot so it was hard to tell but the teeth looks to be about the same on both sides. I am beginning to feel my pup may have munched on a bone the wrong way and it may have punctured an area btwn the teeth. He doesnt seem to be in any pain when he eats and chews his toys. What do you guys think?
My pup is about 4 1/2 months old and I noticed he lost one of his front tooth.....is that about the correct age for him to be loosing teeth and new ones coming in? I was playing w/ a puppy tug when i noticed some blood on the tug...looked inside his mouth and nothing a socket where a tooth used to be.
Yup-the timing is right to start getting his adult teeth. Just make sure the puppy teeth come out as the adult ones come in as sometimes the new tooth comes in without pushing the old one out. Usually the teeth come out as they are playing, chewing etc. Young dogs new teeth always look so nice and white and perfect- I just love the look of them.
