I know it is not fair to pick on this particular retailer, but I was poking around on their site (don't ask) and ran into this. http://www.petsmart.com/training/index.shtml
I found their quizzes on the lower left hand side most amusing. Perhaps y'all will get a good chuckle out of them as well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I look at this crap and I'm less amused, I guess. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
These guys are as much a scam as many other bogus trainers that I point out.
I love their statement "Our instructors are accredited experts trained in canine ethology, learning theory & interpreting canine body postures" - are they on drugs to make a statement like that? *EXPERTS*? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
And here's another whopper from their site:
"Our learning center has a real-world environment that enables your dog to learn despite distractions" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />
PetSmart training is a joke and the claims that they make on their site are wild exaggerations, period.
Let the buyer beware. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
I've used Petsmart all this week to proof for this weekends AKC trials. Can't find a better place for so many dumb people to use as distractions. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
It wouldn't let me click Option C for any of em!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

That's it.....I am training at Pet Smart <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
NOT!!!!!!!!!!
I can see my Bloodhound and MAL doing this and causing havoc...hee hee <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
LOL, I like the fact that no matter how you answer, they still say that private training is recommended <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I go there to train when they have their classes for distraction purposes and the instructor has caught people in the class watching me and she will say, "if you stick with what I am telling you, you too can have a dog heel like that." Yeah right.
She is not the first to issue this challenge and while I am not a "clicker" person, I find it entertaining that any trainer that does not take her challenge is a "second rate talent." Ah well, I guess you need to get clients somehow <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
You are right, Will. The implications of this type of advice are not particularly amusing. My amusement came from the claims of training perfect dogs paired with the advice. No wonder there are so many poorly behaved dogs in the world. What a nightmare!
Leah
Ingrid,
That trainer's claims are the funniest things that I've seen in months, I appreciate the laugh! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
The training that she's "graduated" from on her "Links" page says it all.....*snicker*
Yeah, I saw that as well <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> What I find freaky is there is not one photo of this chick anywhere. Even when you go to that "trainer"'s website, there is pics of almost all of the other "graduates" but just a blank where her photo should be.

I love this site! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> And I love the way the first five letters of the web address describe it so perfectly, too: Dog Do !!
