Sage is 8 mos and 14 pound today. Still a pain to feed. I just put the food there and hope she eats at least a 1/2 a day. Feed it isn't finished eating in an hour I throw it away to the cats. Anyway Itried method . eg Using
Natural Balance. Remember She has is overbite bite/jaw.
Using tuna/anchovies boiled with dry dogfood.
Canidae crush a bit.....
Finally got madder than hell. Got a cat. Sage is friendly to 2 cats only. 2 cats she cannot boss around. So I say is Filipino vernaculiar "Sage eat now or the kitty is going to eat the food" Well Sage with her wiggly butt turned about face and started to roam
around. I let go of the cat which starts munching on the food. "Meow yummy" I say which yummy I say to the dog before a meal. Well she was horrified to see the cat eating the food so back went. I get the cat and when Sage starts to wander the cat gets some food. Kitty isa
bit fat now, good thing their are 2 cats.
Question: Is this dog psycho for it to eat? I mean what would I do if both catdie? 1 is old both are of underterminite age. Would I need to a another dog then? Remember I think the dog was sold at 4 weeks old ( Breeder lied about she age)maybe this is the problem??
If you're feeding dog food to your cats, they are not getting the proper nutrition. Many of us here feed either a completely or a modified raw diet. Whatever you choose to feed, put it down for 20 minutes (I like to feed in the crate so there are no distractions). If the dog hasn't eaten the food, take it up and, if feeding raw or anything other than plain, dry kibble, refrigerate what's left. Don't feed anything until the next meal. Then, put down what the dog didn't eat before. Don't try to make up for what he missed eating previously. If you are consistent, and there's no medical reason for his not eating, he will soon learn that if he doesn't eat at meal time he doesn't get any food until the next meal. A healthy dog will not starve himself.
If you haven't done so, take him to the vet just to make sure there isn't any medical condition/s.
I give her Canidae. It's the best kibble their is. She just became harder and harder to feed. Now she eat just right and in 15 minutes with the cats. Will also buy a clock timer to make her eat faster. She has the tendendies to roam. So maybe once the bell rings its all for the cats.
Believe me I had 3 dog before and they were all vorarious eaters. BTW Sage has been seen by a vet and was given a clean bill of health.
