My boy is 12 monthes old and has never shown any other form of handler agression. When we are building drive I can bring him into my arms and he will stand there but he mouths the tug. When I grab the tug and tug on it he starts to growl at me. Is this a form of handler agression? And if so I do I stop it with out bringing him down in drive? If it's not handler agression would it be ok for me to let it continue?
To me growling is not always bad. It can be a form of commincation for the dog to say that he is not comfortable.
Some dogs growl during tug work. This is just verbalizing the fight of the game and should be ignored. If you try an extinguish this you will more than likely kill the drive.
