Sorry, I don't know those two, but Naomi Egidius (I'm assuming they're littermates unless "Nike" is a call-name) was owned by Jill Frost of TimberhausK9. I'm sure she'd tell you anything you wanted to know in addition to Naomi's page on her site. Go to TimberhausK9 and then click on "our females". Naomi is at the bottom under "retired females." Hope this is of some help.
Don't have any first hand accounts of what Nike Equdius produced. Nice working pedigree from Nike especially the top half thru Aly Vordersteinwald and Troll.
I do have several friends with progeny from Honza Okal.
Of of (3) dogs I know, two of them are very high drive "sport" dogs and the other one is always serious and be a little difficult for the average handler.
Hi Jason-
Honza Okal produces awsome dogs from what I have seen but I have noticed that on the female progeny, mine included, even when he is bred to different dams the females cannot be bred. I have seen this on more than 3 differnt breedings where he is the sire. Just an FYI.
I'm not sure what's the deal with that "gene" Patrick but I remember your female and 2 other female out of him that had the same issue (same sire - Honza) but different dam.
Interesting...
A friend of mine does have a bitch out of Honza. She was able to have pups but she didn't want to nurse them. We're not sure if this was due to the harsh treatment she had to endure on Slovakia or what.
Only time will tell...
No desire to breed her yet until she gets another title or two
Just spoke to an acquaintance who has a Honza son and he's been bred once with 6 pup litter to West German female.
Bruce McNabb (OG Indianapolis) has a Honza son (Baro Pet-Keram). Not sure if he has used him at stud yet. Nice nice dog though.
Chary Naspo is one of the dogs a close friend owns. From what we know she was bred in Slovakia and aborted the litter after 2 weeks. Again not sure of the living conditions she was in so after a title or two, she's going to give it a try and see what happens.
But to reiterate my answer to the original post, all of the dogs I have seen first hand from Honza are very nice dogs.
i have a nike grandson, my dog is doing very well. but he is still only 13months, he is also a nick heilegbosch, and norbo ben-ju grandson, so i guess his second generation is pretty nice all around if you are looking at slovakian lines, i have heard nothing but good things from honza okal progeny as far as workability, i know honza was on the world team himself, so that is pretty strong. PM me if you have any specific questions!
