At what point in protection training should the dog be exposed to different trainers/decoys and different locations? I've heard varying thoughts. Some say that change in decoy and area should be done very early while others says that a dog should build their skills with one trainer at one location until it is close to fully trained and then start adding changes.

I agree with this statement that it should be a part of proofing or testing his will to work. Why stress a young dog thats not assure of himself, just because.
I will say that don't be afraid to find another helper/trainer that more in tune to the modern ideals found here. Motivation over Complusion, but realieve there is a time for both.
